Ozette Coast @ Olympic National Park

Thursday May 28, 2009 @ 21:50

Pacific Ocean from Olympic National ParkThis one is going back in time a bit to a trip I took to the Ozette Coast of Olympic National Park early this month. I didn’t get to take nearly as many pictures here as I’d have liked due to the rain and fear of ruining my camera. I have to say, the Pacific was extremely calm, as was the wind  There is something to be said for making sure you read the tide charts and understand how they affect passages when hiking the coast…  The 3am hike back by headlamp to beat high tide was an adventure.

View from the Capilano Suspension Bridge

CapilanoSuspensionBridgeA view from the Capilano Suspension Bridge in North Vancouver, BC.  I was particularly disappointed in the shots I got here, this is possible the best one and quite frankly it sucks.  Further proof as to why I write code instead of taking photos for a living…

Butchart Garden’s Tulip

A closeup of a Tulip at Butchart Gardens.

For Memorial Day weekend my folks and I headed up to British Columbia to take in the sights.  The hundreds of Tulips were quite impressive.

Butchart Garden’s Fish Fountain

Thursday May 28, 2009 @ 21:16

butchartfishI took this shot at Butchart Gardens outside of Victoria, BC.  Much of the gardens were shrouded in tough lighting situations so I didn’t get nearly as many great photo’s as I’d have hope…

Lake Mills from Observation Point

Sunday February 22, 2009 @ 13:17

Lake Mills from Observation PointHere is another shot from my trip to the Olympic Peninsula.  It was taken on January 18th at 13:29.  Observation Point is up the road from the Elwha entrance to the park.  This area was a lot lower in elevation than Hurricane Ridge and thus had way less snow.

Next time I go out to the peninsula I’m going to have to go visit the Hoh Rain Forest.

If you want to get a feel for where this is check out the map from the national parks site.
